Jioufen

Publié le par Carouche

This week I’ve been to Jioufen, a town in the mountain, in the Rueifang Township of Taipei County, like about an hour far from Taipei downtown. Jioufen means litteraly ‘9 portions’ in Chinese, because it refers to the very beginning of this town, where 9 families used to live during the Qing Dynasty.

This town is a real touristic place, but because I’ve been there during the week there were almost nobody in the streets. I was really amazed to see how magical the city could be!!It reminded me a lot the beautiful landscapes we can see in the film 'Chihiro' from the legendary Miyazaki.
